Another benefit of weight loss

Imagine you have to take medicine everyday for the rest of your life. Whoa, just thinking about that is scary. You have to remember to take it in the morning or after meals, or before bed. Pre-order new subscriptions before they run out. Have an extra monthly payment, just to live a “normal” life, not an above average or AWESOME life, just a normal, safe and healthy life.

THEN, you get sick of it all, decide to take action and make a CHANGE. You DECIDE to seek help, to break habits, create new one’s, end the “I’ll start tomorrow’s” and start today.

You WANT to get back to having the FUN you know and loved, the energy that comes naturally and not from a can or from Starbucks and get back to your high school or college or pre-pregnancy or pre-marriage or previous kick butt & take names body weight & body shape.

Well…, I just received an e-mail , from a client who lost 30 pounds and changed her entire lifestyle over the last 2 years. She had a check up with her doctor and is going under tests to determine if she can come off her medication or reduce them. It looks like the dosage is now hurting her more than helping her because of the weight loss and may not (stress the may), be helping anymore.

So (with fingers crossed), she’ll be reducing her meds and best case, off of them altogether. All because she decided enough was enough, accepted a challenge and took action. SWEETNESS!

Cheers,

Mike Alves

The Big Papi Spit

Get this. I’m training a “wicked” cool 60 year old woman yesterday, putting her through a tough new circuit intended to make her sweat, get her stronger and have her do a lot of different movements.

We’re about halfway through the workout (30min in) and starting our 3rd set of a mini circuit. The mini circuit consisted of Barbell Front Squats to a box, Cable Rope Face Pulls, Barbell Stiff Leg Dead Lifts and Bench Push Ups (hands on the bench). All for reps of 5. Right before she picks up the bar for dead lifts, she SPITS in both hands, claps them together, rubs them on her pants and picks up the bar. She didn’t bat an eye and I don’t think she realized that she did it. It was hilarious. I wanted to roll on the floor laughing, but she was in a zone and I didn’t want to break her focus.

(nodding head & smiling), it was great! 🙂

Proud mamma!

This e-mail is from my mom. I haven’t gone live with my blog or website yet, as I have been building content, but she checked in to see how it was going. Below is an e-mail from her and it made my day, week, who knows how long it will last, but it feels great to make my mom proud. Please read.

“Hi Mike

I just went to your site for the first time. I read all your blogs and they were pretty good. You totally amaze me at how well you write. I can still remember how you hated creative writing or was it some other English class. I wish I could write as well as you do. Some people have a natural talent with words and making them flow and you are one of them. Keep it up.

Love,
MOM”

Thanks for reading.
